1 Go to Main Menu page 2 Click on the second option, Search for Images FIRST SEARCH CRITERION 3 Note that in Section 1, there are eight fields or search criteria such as Country, Operator, Item etc. 4 Note also that on the left of the each of the search criteria is a radio button 5 The search procedure always starts with the Country radio button selected 6 It is possible to move the radio button to one of the other search criteria 7 Click on the INFO button to the right of the Country line, after "...BELG)" 8 A summary of the countries currently included in the database appears 9 Note on the summary page the four-letter country codes used in the database 10 Click back at the foot of the page to return to the Search For Images page 11 Leaving the radio button on Country selected, go to Section 2 and enter BRIT 12 Go to Section 5, Click on >>> proceed <<<< 13 The database will find all the images held for Britain 14 Note that to the right of the top thumb-nail photo is a text panel 15 To the right, of the top line of text, is shown, Image 1 of XXX matches 16 The images come forward in batches of ten 17 If you click on a thumb-nail image, it will enlarge to preview size 18 Scroll down to the tenth image, at the bottom of the page are four options 19 Click on Back To Previous Page SECOND SEARCH CRITERION 20 Go to Section 3, click on right-hand box, for Second Search Criterion 21 Go to Section 5, click on >>> proceed <<< 22 Go to Section 6 of new page, note ITEM option, click on INFO button on right-hand side 23 A list of the Items used in this database is brought up 24 Note that each ITEM is defined by a four letter code, for instance STEA for Steam 25 Click back at the foot of the page to return to the second Search For Images page 26 Click to select the radio button for ITEM, go to Section 7 and enter STEA 27 Go to Section 10, Click on >>> proceed <<<< 28 The database will find all the images held for British Steam locomotives 29 To the right, of the top line of text, is shown, Image 1 of XXX matches 30 Scroll down to tenth image, at the bottom of the page are four options 31 Click on Back To Previous Page THIRD SEARCH CRITERION 32 Go to Section 8, click on right-hand box, for Third Search Criterion 33 Go to Section 10, click on >>> proceed <<< 34 Go to Section 11, of new page, note WHEEL ARRANGEMENT option, click on INFO on right-hand side 35 A help page describing the Wheel Arrangement coding used in the database is brought up 36 Click back at the foot of the page to return to the third Search For Images page 37 Click to select the radio button for WHEEL ARRANGEMENT, go to Section 12 and enter 4-6-2 as the next search criterion 38 Go to Section 14, Click on >>> proceed <<< 39 The database will find all the images held for British 4-6-2 Steam Locomotives 40 Scroll down to tenth image, at the bottom of the page are four options 41 Click on Start a fresh search 42 Perform the above steps again, perhaps trying a different country such as BELG (Belgium) or a different wheel arrangement.
