The Place Detail Field

The Place Detail field in the photographic database contains up to 45 characters usually containing the name of the place where the photograph was taken and other brief descriptive narrative about the shot that will fit in the space available.

If you enter, for example, the name of a place, the system will search anywhere within the Place Detail Field for a match. To simplify search criterion input, no accents are used in the database. So, for example, to search for Koln you should enter Koln rather than Köln.

In the case of names or suffixes that may be abbreviated in different ways, such as Junction which may be abbreviated to Junct, Jct, Jn etc., you might consider searching, say, for Clapham Junction by entering a search criterion of Clapham J
