If you choose to search using the Class or Builder, Wheel Arrangement,
Number, Place Details or Additional Notes
fields, the system will search to find a match anywhere
within the chosen field on the record. This permits very flexible searching, but generally
better results will be obtained by entering a more specific search parameter. For example, if you search on Leeds you will find photographs either taken at Leeds, or perhaps of a train going to or emanating from Leeds. Searching for ee will indeed find Leeds, but it will also find the words green, beer, etc. Equally, searching for oo could yield Waterloo, Colnbrook and also Oostende! Searching for multiple words is permitted e.g. rail tour.
